The trailblazer passed away Tuesday afternoon after spending a week in palliative care, her family told CBC News.?
Bigelow, who was a just a week away from turning 93, was London’s mayor from 1972-1978. She had previously served terms as deputy mayor and had been a member of the city’s now defunct board of control.
